6 Reasons Why You Should Book an In-Home Family Photo Session
Sometimes my clients are wondering how they can make their images more personal and meaningful. That’s why I’ve created this list of 6 reasons why you should book an in-home session. An in-home is the easiest (and my favourite) way to give more love to these photos that will be hanging in their home for years to come.
IT HAS MORE MEANING
Imagine this: 10 years from now, you and your partner are curled up on the couch and you look back at the photos from your in-home session. Maybe it was your first place together. The apartment you came home to as newlyweds on your wedding night. The home where you started a family. It’s places like this you’ll want to remember.
YOU’LL FEEL COMFORTABLE
Something about being in an environment you’re familiar with always makes my clients feel at ease. Curl up on your couch, snuggle in bed, or cook together in your kitchen. The possibilities for in-home sessions are endless!
IT ENCOURAGES INTIMACY
It’s also easier to be intimate in your own home. If you or your partner aren’t into PDA, being in your home allows you to be completely yourselves in a safe space. As always, I’m not here to judge. Breathe each other in, touch each other, heck go on a full out make-out session! I promise it’s not weird. It’s good that you love each other. It makes my job easier and your photos better.
YOU CAN MORE EASILY BRING YOUR PET
If your dog is anything like me, bringing them to an outdoor session sounds stressful. Sometimes it’s hard to enjoy yourself when you’re worried about your pet! An in-home session allows you to have your furry friend to take part in your photos much more easily. They’re in their own, familiar environment, and you can put them in a room with the door closed when you’re ready to do some without!
IT’S PERFECT FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN
Especially if you have young children, in-home photos are great because you can relax knowing your kids are safe and in an environment that is familiar to both you and them. If the kids aren’t cooperating like we had hoped, let them wander off and play with toys or watch a video. We can take some couples portraits and come back to the family stuff when they are ready.
IT’S PERFECT FOR WINTER
No more worrying about what the weather is going to be like on the day of your session. Here in Kamloops, BC the weather can sometimes be unpredictable depending on the time of year. The best part of in-home sessions is you’re in total control. Rain or shine, sunny or cloudy, let’s do this thing!
